I have just watched the first episode in the series of Made in Chelsea, a programme that in todays world is only natural to see on TV. It is the kind of TV that is so crap, that you just have to watch it. You are lead on there lives which are mixed with bad and good, the good almost making you jealous of a work free, partying life almost.
However behind the mayhem, I can't help to notice the fashion, of obviously the male and the female. Many of whom have the money to but nice clothing but don't seem to be understanding how fashion works, with bikinis that maybe you would see in primark... not up to MIC style. Some of the men are just as bad, wearing unflattering shorts with trainers, yes trainers, not the greatest style of shoe to model on a british TV show when so many people are fixed on fashion in these reality TV shows these days.
You do on the other hand get the ones who do dress nicely, black lace dresses, styled along side a nice pair of stilettos. You have cream shorts being worn, accompanied with a aqua style tonal shirt, untucked, and appearing to be casual as probably aimed at to the public. You may think, what am I trying to get at, and the point is that if they have all this money that they are spending on make up and parties then why do some of them turn up in a luminous lime dress, which does not fit the mood of the restaurant at all, being a dark, dull, and cosy restaurant.
I feel in todays world, on shows such as MIC and TOWIE style should be the main aspect that should be focussed on, as aside from the story, the style and how the person looks is the main point. You have to balance it out through into a casual smart, to a full out smart style which I think is the problem with most of the people in the show. They almost dress up too much, they almost try too hard, I think they need to play it calm, dress more 'middle classed', with the hidden designer cloths, if wearing any designer clothing at all. I find in life when people try too hard it does not pull off, keep it simple and be yourself!
