Golds and Silvers have been the colours associated with Christmas for a long time now, a they have been on the outfits of many during the Christmas period, wether it is when accessorising, or wearing those two colours with the contrasting colour of black, another colour that is hot this winter, and will make you look the part.
I love the use of Gold and Silver first to accessorise, as it allows anyone to be drawn to that area of your body because of the contrast, and if you are wearing with a dark colour, for example, black or a very dark blue. On the other side you can get away with wearing gold and silver with white, and even though they may clash it still will be a nice touch to the outfit, that will bring the essential touch of sparkle you need this A/W12 to look great.
Gold and silver has been noticed by me a lot in shops and on TV this year. I feel this is because those two colours are so easy to work with, other colours almost have to fit in with gold and silver when combined, and they mostly always do. You have to be carful though that when gold is worn with a light colour not to make it look too tacky.
Silver and Black is my top favourite as I feel to is a wonderful combination, that adds that certain sparkle that you need, but not enough to hurt the eye. Silver works well with black when there is a bead styled arrangement on a certain part of the dress, a dress being the best to show off the silver. The long elongating dress which would be predominately be black helps the small amount of silver on the dress to pear in.
Shoes that are gold and silver, could once again also work, with a whole outfit of black as it will allow the eye to wall slowly down the outfit leading the eye to the sparkles.
I feel black is such a predominant tone this winter, many celebrities have been wearing black, and so to have there been a lot of jewellery layered on top. It is a colour that this year will be a big part in making a great outfit and I feel the best way to promote the black is to accessories it in a bit of gold or silver.
Black dresses this A/W12 should be long and beautiful, either lacy or solid, lacy being the best out of the two as the jewellery, will help the openings in the dress (in between the lacy ) to look more sparse then with our the jewellery. Black also makes you look extremely slim, and adding low hanging jewellery will surely help the body to look increasingly stretched and stylish.
So black long lacy dress, gold or silver jewellery, and low hanging jewellery and you are sure to be on the stylish list.
